Just squeeze the bottle and work it into the stain a little, leave it for a few minutes, come back and scrub, and you're done. I blot dry with a paper towel and we're good as new. Great for pet stains and accidental spills from the kids. I have had no issues with ruining my rugs or furniture, but as with any product, be sure to test in a hidden area of the fabric to test for colorfastness before using anywhere in plain view.
