Robotic Vacuum Review
Average Reviews:
(More customer reviews)Just got this, and put it to work in my kitchen. It got to work roaming around, suctioning up the dog hair. When I came back at the end of the day and checked it, it had done a very admirable job of cleaning, all at about 1/3 to 1/4 the price of the Roomba. Will I still need to sweep? Absolutely. It can't get right up next to walls or in corners. But from what I read, people that own the Roomba still have to sweep, too. And this was alot less and there don't appear to be any expendable items (dust filter, swiffer cloth), that you can't obtain locally and cheaply by being a bit ingenious and handy with a pair of scissors.
One point - I don't think it will do well on carpets. No beater brush, and the suction isn't that strong. The test will be how long does it last. But so far for the money, I am pleased! It helps keep things clean between your own cleanings.
Update, after one month: This little guy is still doing a great job. I've seen it other places on Amazon for less than what I paid. If you can get it for less than $50, then you should definitly go for it. However, it really is only for hard wood or tile floors.
Update Feb 16 2009 - A couple of months ago, the little guy stopped taking a charge. I am debating whether or not to try and by replacement batteries (not cheap) to see if that will fix the problem, or just chucking it all together. I hate to do that, but I also hate throwing money at a problem not knowing if it will fix it or not.
