(More customer reviews)I bought through in-home sales pitch. I'd been leery about spending that kind of dough but now that I own it, its worth the investment. I too got hooked by the baking soda demo, that's just amazing. I'd just bought a Dyson the year before and I loved all the accessories but the bagless feature I thought I'd like turned out to be a negative...dust goes everywhere when you empty it, you have to go outside...and then it just blows back on you. PIA. I'd rather just dispose of a bag thank you. Also, I continued to have dust settling problem on all my furniture and electronics, the Dyson seemed to stir up a lot of dust in the air. After a week with Sentria I won't go back. Much less dust on all my furniture. I suspect it will continue to decline to nothing as I cycle through all the dust in the air settling on the floors.
Yeah, the shampooer isn't as thorough as a commercial shampooer/vacuum..but I didn't buy it for that anyway. If you spill something that goes to the pad, even a commercial shampooer won't get all that out...just lift your carpet and see for yourself, been there done that several times.
I also like the wallmount accessory box, very nice way to handle all the accessories.
I agree the in-home sales approach limits them in the market.
but its a great vacuum.

(More customer reviews)I don't even know where to start...Nearly three years after I came home from work and found out that I was the not-so-proud owner of a $2000 vacuum I'm still looking for reasons to justify my wife's purchase.
It is a top quality vacuum cleaner, though. I still look at it sometimes and think "Wow. That's a well-made piece of machinery." Reflecting on the quality is very soothing. It's all aluminum with a few high quality plastic parts. It's more durable and better performing than any vacuum used by professional house cleaners--and my wife actually is a professional ouse cleaner. But it's way to heavy and too expensive for any company to consider equipping there workers with.
It's like another one of my professsional grade power tools--and heavier than most of them. But this is not a problem for a small woman who only has to roll it around the house without repeatedly lifting it up, especially since it has a built in propulsion system to do the pushing and pulling for you. It feels sturdy and substantial, and the shampooer attachment works great.
My wife shampoos the carpets with it and wow what a difference. We have toddlers and dogs, and our carpets take a beating. I'm not familiar with all the attachemnts, but it looks like quite a project when my wife does the shampooing. The results are undeniable, though.
It's also great for restoring stinky smoker's matresses...Our friend gave us a free queen sized pillowtop that was hardly used, but it smelled like cigarettes and stunk up the rear half of the house. I memoved the odor by covering the mattress with a layer of carpet fresh and letting it stand for a day or two with the bedroom door shut.workied great

Brand New Kirby Diamond (G9) Limited Edition Upright Home Cleaning System w/ Warranty Review

(More customer reviews)I bought a new Kirby last year and it does a great job. It has such powerful suction, you can see it almost lift the carpet off the floor. With the auto drive, it is very easy to push on the carpet. You can do it with one finger. It has an attachment for just about any cleaning job you want, including shampooing your carpets.
I guess my biggest complaint is that you need to take off the front part to attach and use the hose. That is really inconvenient when wanting to get at baseboards. You either finish up vacuuming, then change the hose attachment and go around to each room again and do the baseboards. Or you have to change it while in each room and back again.
My second complaint is the weight of the machine. It's heavy for a woman to carry up and down stairs, or to use cleaning the mattress.
If you don't mind the draw backs, this machine will clean like no other and should last a lifetime with few repairs.

Kirby Sentria Upright Vacuum Review

(More customer reviews)I bought my Kirby about 4 years ago, and it was a LOT of money. The salesman, who was in my house for 4+ hours and would not leave, convinced me that it was superior. It IS a decent vacuum, but I actually find myself using it less than I used my previous vacuum because it is such a pain to use. It is heavy and cumbersome and if you want to use the hose to edge clean, vacuum upholstery, or to clean in tight spots, you have to take the entire head off and attach a hose before you can do that. It is not quick, or convenient. Plus there is the inconvenience having to buy and deal with vacuum bags again. The Kirby salesman convinced me to give him my old vacuum and my very nice Bissell carpet shampooer as a "trade in" (and I STILL paid over $2100 for the KIrby!) and I got the Sentria and the carpet shampooer system. I went to use my carpet shampooer for the first time today and found that the belt was damaged as it had been used before, not the brand new system that I was told I was paying for. So it will go back in the closet for 4 more years and I will go rent an inferior machine from the supermarket. I feel very ripped off. I do not consider myself gullible, but I surely did fall for a line with this vacuum!
My carpets have never looked worse! Consumers would be better served buying whatever the latest technology has to offer (I hear Dyson is awesome) than spending way too much money for an inconvenient, heavy Kirby.

Kirby Lickity Split Review

(More customer reviews)I just used this Lickity Split on my friends carpet - her daughter spilt almost the whole bottle of dark purple nail polish - the carpet was ruined! They tried nail polish remover, water and rubbing alchohol etc to no avail. So, wasn't too worried about the 'test on hidden area of carpet first' warning. We totally soaked each blemish (after it has hardened in the carpet for a couple weeks), and rubbed with a towel once it had soaked in. Miraculous recovery, and may save them loosing their deposit on their lease! Ordering 3 more bottles!

(More customer reviews)I purchased these for my new Kirby Sentria, which I bought new a little over 3 months ago. I waited for the bags to arrive, what a disappointment. They absolutely DO NOT fit the Sentria. They are the wrong dims, the bag does not attach to the vaccum as it should. The cardboard clips on the bags that came with your Kirby are not on this bag. The plastic bag these came in do not even mention the Sentria. Now I have to return them, what a waste of time and money! Buyer be-warned!

(More customer reviews)This is by far the best carpet shampoo for people with pets ever. I work in dog rescue and we specialize in elderly and sick dogs. Sometimes I have to keep a dog in my living room area which is wall to wall carpeting. With my own three dogs it gets crazy and the urine of a sick dog makes them want to mark that dogs area. I have tried everything from Natures Miracle to Dyson products to Stanley steamer coming in to proffesionaly clean. Nothing has even come close to this product. I put it in the Bissell shampooer and in minutes it was like a new house. It took out all the stains and the odor is totally gone! I am ordering a case of this stuff. It really is a God send for me.

I attempt to clean at least every 6 months (though I aim for every 3-4) but the carpets are still in decent shape thanks to Kirby!
