I am always careful with what I buy on Line be it through Amazon.com or other sites, so you can imagine my disappointment when I received this part which totally different from the description and part umber on Hoover manual.
I paid $9 including shipment for this tiny seal, that does not fit on my tank, so I called and e-maild and finaly the seller responded with an e-mail stating I am responsible for the return label and a restocking fee !! really ?it as big as a button $4 restocking fee ?
stay away from this seller.

Steam Vac Extractor Review

This is a good carpet cleaner. I can't fault the machine for the initial problems. When I first received this product, I immediately went to work, or tried to. The solution tank was faulty and all the solution leaked out, creating a mess on the floor. I then went online to [...] to order a new tank only to find that the tank I needed was "out of stock", with no indication whatever when I could expect it to be in stock. I had removed all the furniture from my den and it was sitting in the middle of my living room. My frustration level was very high at this point. I then looked for local dealers and found one less than 5 miles from my house. I called and the gentleman there was very helpful. He not only checked his inventory but actually went to locate the part visually before I went to pick it up. He also told me exactly what I needed to take with me in order to get the tank replaced for free. This was practically an all-day deal but I was able to get another tank. It didn't leak, the machine works well and isn't really all that hard to deal with. Yes, the tanks are smaller than the commercial machines and you have to refill and/or empty them a lot but, overall, it's a good residential machine and handy to have around. One hint: When you go to empty the recovery tank, remove the solution tank first. I found out the hard way. You have to lay the handle of the machine down on the floor, which tilts the solution tank and causes it to leak. Maybe this is a no-brainer for some but the instruction booklet failed to mention it and I just followed the directions. Duh!!!!

Hoover Brush Block Dual V WidePath / All Terrain 48437030 Review

Hoover Brush Block Dual V WidePath / All Terrain 48437030

I discovered the hard way that I needed to clean the carpet fibers out of my Hoover Steam Cleaner brush block. (After using my steam cleaner a few times, carpet fibers from my rug built up around the brushes, jammed them, and led to the plastic drive shaft on this brush block to break off. If you're looking at the picture of the product, that's the little green "finger" sticking up in on the lower portion of the picture.) The entire part is made of plastic, and while it feels a little flimsy, I don't think it would have broken if I had properly cleaned the brushes after each use.
After researching the part, I bought a replacement brush block on Amazon. Be sure to check on the Hoover web site to make sure you're ordering the right brush block for your steam cleaner ... there are at least two different blocks, and they aren't compatible. But once I received my replacement, it installed easily and works fine.
My only nit is that this simple brush block costs about ten percent of what it would cost to buy a new steam cleaner, which seems a bit pricey.
Bottom line ... keep your brush block clean. But if you're reading this review, I assume you've already learned that lesson the same way I did!

Hoover SteamVac Carpet Cleaner with Power Brush and Tools, FH50035 Review

Hoover SteamVac Carpet Cleaner with Power Brush and Tools, FH50035
Average Reviews:

For the past 8-9 years I have been renting a RugDoctor carpet cleaner from Home Depot two to three times a year. Our carpets were brand new when we bought our house 20 years ago which was three kids and two dogs ago. I would love to rip and replace our carpets but not spending that kind of money right now.
My situation is unique in that I did not have to pay anything for my Hoover Quick & Light because our bank Visa had an awards program. The awards website just said Hoover Steam Vac and I saw several good reviews online. Once we actually received the unit I did a new search for reviews of the Quick & Light and was dissapointed that the majority were not good. I actually took it down to my local Hoover store to see if I could trade up for something better. No go.
So I figured I was stuck with another crappy device that would underperform and waste time. I am happy to say that I was pleasantly surprised when I first used the Hoover. It did just as good as job as the RugDoctor. Matter of fact I think that the power brushes do a much better job than the RugDoctors I was renting. The good news is that it is light and takes a small amount of water to operate. Which is good when your pet gets sick or you just want to do one room over the weekend. The bad news is that it takes a small amount of water to operate which also means there is a lot of stopping, adding more clean water and dumping the dirty water.
I think it is a very good unit for someone that wants to able to clean up after a pet or just stay on top of one room at a time. It is light and easy enough to use that my parents (in their 80's) could use it. All in all a good unit and I would say good value for the $129 price range.

Hoover MaxExtract 60 PressurePro Carpet Deep Cleaner, FH50220 Review

Hoover MaxExtract 60 PressurePro Carpet Deep Cleaner, FH50220

After adopting two basset hounds, I decided to invest in a carpet cleaner of some sort. I spent a couple of days reviewing products in the [...] range. I spent a good bit of time at Target, Walmart, Lowes and Home Depot literally taking various floor models apart and putting them back together to inspect their quality and ease of use.
I learned that more people were satisfied with Hoover products than Bissell. I could see how the little spinning brushes on Hoover products should clean more thoroughly than Bissell's one long beater brush. Reviews seem to bear this out, but it's close! I narrowed my choices down to the Hoover All Terrain Steam Vac Hoover SteamVac Carpet Cleaner, All-Terrain, F7452900 or the Bissell ProHeat 2X Home Bissell ProHeat 2X Healthy Home Upright Deep Cleaner, 66Q4. The Bissell appeared a better built product, but I didn't really like the bar brush or the odd bladder style tank-in-a-tank.
That's when I just happened to stop by a Target store and found this machine, Hoover MaxExtract 60 PressurePro Carpet Deep Cleaner, FH50220. It has the little brushes I like and the quality is FAR SUPERIOR to the Hoovers in the "Steam Vac" series. (I just can't believe how flimsy they are.) The Hoover Max Extract is a much more solid machine than any of the Bissells I looked at.
I used it for the first time today and cleaned the entire house. Very nice! I would have to say that the Hoover Max Extract 60 does every bit of a good job as any professional cleaning I've had. Matter of fact, it did a better job than the last professional as he seemed in a hurry. The carpets took about 2 hours to dry. The real surprise comes when you vacuum the carpet after it has dried. Wow, my eight year old, dog worn carpet looks new again!
For the record, I used about 64 oz.of Hoover Pet detergent Hoover 40321130 Premium Pet Formula Carpet/Upholstery Detergent, 128-Ounce over about 1500 sq. ft. of carpet. The trick, it seems, is to go slow and make sure all of the dirty water is sucked up. It did a great job of the water extraction. The worst areas (where the dogs lie) I simply used a little extra spray and let the little brushes do the work.
Cleaning the machine is fairly easy and straight forward. It took me about 30 minutes to clean the machine and get it ready for next time. The only problem I had with it (reason for 4 stars, not 5) was that the brushes did not spin the very first time I used them. I simply reached down and loosened them up by popping them out as if to clean them. They worked flawlessly after that!
I am very pleased with the quality and sturdiness of the Max Extract 60 and thrilled with the way it cleaned my carpets. I would highly recommend it to a friend.

Hoover MaxExtract Dual V Carpet Cleaner, Garnet-F7411900 Review

I had the older version of this machine. I bought it about 6 years ago and after attempting to clean the rugs last month I realized it was no longer picking up the water. Opened it up and saw that the internal suction hose had split in half. That was it .. time to find another cleaner. I have had good luck with Hoovers but did a TON of research before settling on this machine. I have a dog and a toddler and both do a number on my rugs. Juice, food, crayons, spit up, urine and everything else under the sun has ended up on my carpet in the past 2 years. I did not take care of my previous Hoover so it wasn't the best in its later life. I just brought the new one home and oh my god, the water was black. I did not think anything could bring my carpets back but this did. They are so soft and clean. I love this machine because it has a rinse button if you want to make sure you have gotten all the soap out. I use really warm water and the machine directs hot air onto the carpet as you make your passes. The carpet dried super fast and just looks fantastic. I had to fill and empty the containers 4 times for my combination living / dining room but hey, I'm not complaining now that I see the results. I also like this machine because you do not mix the detergent in with the water. This is great because if you have detergent left over you just pour it back into the bottle. Based on my previous experience, here is what I learned and can pass on to future Hoover SteamVac owners:
1. Clean your machine after each use. That means taking apart the brushes and washing out the front nozzle. This is an investment and if you want it to continue working like it did the first day, you need to take care of it.
2. Do not leave left over or dirty water in the tank when you put it away. This will wear away at the joints and increases the chances the leaks.
3. Do not leave left over detergent in the tank .. see #2.
4. Read the directions when you put it together and make sure you read how to use this rather than just take it out and turn it on. I never read the first manual and didn't realize I should have been cleaning and using the spray button a totally different way.
This is a great machine and I hope it will last just as if not longer now that I know how to take care of and use it properly.
