Hoover F5917900 SteamVac PowerMax with SpinScrub Review

I've cleaned a number of floors and auto interiors. No problems so far, no leaks, great suction. You have to remember this is NOT a commercial unit and must be treated as such. Be aware and careful handling both tanks, don't run it into walls and you should be fine. I can note that I cleaned one exceptionally filthy office floor carpet and had incredible results. I did have to use six tanks of cleaner using laundry detergent in the mix on a 12'X 12' room but the results were nothing short of dramatic. The machine pulled out what looked like mud water in the collection tank and after about the 4th pass it was relatively clear. This is not a quiet machine but that is not an issue with me, results are. It's about as heavy as a full size vacuum sweeper. The only cons that I can really note is that it is loud, and I wish the tanks were a bit larger in capacity. I can highly recommend this product with no hesitation and would purchase another if need be.

Hoover dual V solution tank 90001295 / 42272104 Review

Hoover dual V solution tank 90001295 / 42272104

This Hoover tank is one of our most popular parts we sell on line. The demand for these are very high. These were made orignially VERY Cheaply, and most customers would break it by just trying to re-attach the tank after refilling. The bottom of the tank then would begin leaking. I have several customers who were on tanks #4 and 5. The actuall machine really does a nice job when everything is working correctly, that's why most people go ahead and spend the $40-$50 for a new tank.
Hoover sold their company in March to TTI Floorcare. TTI is the parent company of Dirt Devil, and Royal Vacuums. They purchased the Hoover name from Maytag. We have mixed feelings about this takeover, as some parts TTI has stopped making all together. The Hoover V2 Clean solution tank was in too high of a demand however to stop making. They have since redesigned the tank and made it 30% more durable. The new tank has a lot better quality plastic. I have not seen ANY problems on the new design.
Hopefully they have fixed the problem for good. Any person purchasing this part should call ahead and make sure it's the new design, or else you'll be replacing the old style tank at least once a year every year.

Hoover F5810 SteamVac Carpet Cleaner Review

Hoover F5810 SteamVac Carpet Cleaner

I was impressed with the way it doesn't oversaturate the carpet (unless you just keep going over the area and pressing the squirt trigger a lot.) The suction is very good and the machine is easy to operate. The water is only as hot as you get out of your faucet however, but this was not a concern for me.
I almost bought a Bissell, similar price, but discovered the Bissell had an odd retriever container--it actually sits inside the clean water container, so this doesn't give much room for the dirty water. I didn't actually try out the Bissell, so I can't really criticize it.
I used the Hoover for a very dirty utility room carpet and the only thing I will do different next time is use a Hoover stain remover for some of the ground in dirt stains.
All in all, I found this machine to be MUCH better than ones I had rented from a local hardware store in past years (for a different house). The rental machines are extremely heavy, hard to get in and out of my car and leave the carpets soaking wet. This Hoover machine isjust what I hoped for.
One thing to be aware of, after you take the machine out of the package, check to see if the cap on the clean water container is already loosened. I was following directions to a "tee" and trying like everything to turn the knob to the left to unscrew it and then discovered it was already loose and ready to be lifted out.
I ordered this machine from Amazon also another item previously, and was very happy with Amazon's fast delivery time on both items.

Commercial Spotter / Carpet Cleaner Five Rotating Brushes for Maximum Cleaning Review

Commercial Spotter / Carpet Cleaner Five Rotating Brushes for Maximum Cleaning
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought the "commercial" unit to get larger holding tanks, since smaller units require annoyingly frequent refills and empties. The one gallon tank on this unit is sufficient for an average sized room. The dirty water tank is also adequate. The unit is simple enough to assemble, and works well. The tanks go on and off easily. There is no doubt that carpets look much better after cleaning, and of course the dirty water attests to the fact that a lot of soil has been removed. I personally recommend a rinse after cleaning with the detergent-containing water. To do this one must empty the cleaning solution from the tank and replace it with water only. This is not inconvenient, and is actually better than those systems that enable detergent on-and-off, since it is simpler and therefore less prone to failure.
On the negative side, I was surprised that the unit did not include an upholstery accessory, especially since the instructions for that are included. Also, it has fittings to accommodate the accessory. I spoke to the Shoplet representative about this, and after some discussion they agreed to send a new unit, from which I could remove the missing parts and return the rest. The new box arrived promptly, but also contained no upholstery accessory. It appears that for some unknown reason Hoover is shipping these out without the accessory, although it had been sold as a "carpet and upholstery cleaner" on Amazon. From the Shoplet representative I learn that Hoover says it is a carpet cleaner only, despite the aforementioned instructions, pictures, and fittings that are in the box and on the machine. You figure that one out. Shoplet gave me a partial refund, and that is the end of that. If you want an upholstery cleaner, look elsewhere besides this Hoover machine.
As another negative point, there is a clip on the cleaner handle to help hold the wire off the floor, but it is almost impossible to get the wire in it, and when you do it will pop out the first time you step on the wire. I solved this with a piece of duct tape to hold the wire more securely.
I haven't had the unit long enough to comment on its durability.

Hoover SteamVac Carpet Cleaner with Power Brush and Tools, FH50035 Review

Hoover SteamVac Carpet Cleaner with Power Brush and Tools, FH50035
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
For the past 8-9 years I have been renting a RugDoctor carpet cleaner from Home Depot two to three times a year. Our carpets were brand new when we bought our house 20 years ago which was three kids and two dogs ago. I would love to rip and replace our carpets but not spending that kind of money right now.
My situation is unique in that I did not have to pay anything for my Hoover Quick & Light because our bank Visa had an awards program. The awards website just said Hoover Steam Vac and I saw several good reviews online. Once we actually received the unit I did a new search for reviews of the Quick & Light and was dissapointed that the majority were not good. I actually took it down to my local Hoover store to see if I could trade up for something better. No go.
So I figured I was stuck with another crappy device that would underperform and waste time. I am happy to say that I was pleasantly surprised when I first used the Hoover. It did just as good as job as the RugDoctor. Matter of fact I think that the power brushes do a much better job than the RugDoctors I was renting. The good news is that it is light and takes a small amount of water to operate. Which is good when your pet gets sick or you just want to do one room over the weekend. The bad news is that it takes a small amount of water to operate which also means there is a lot of stopping, adding more clean water and dumping the dirty water.
I think it is a very good unit for someone that wants to able to clean up after a pet or just stay on top of one room at a time. It is light and easy enough to use that my parents (in their 80's) could use it. All in all a good unit and I would say good value for the $129 price range.

Hoover SteamVac Spin Scrub TurboPower Carpet Cleaner with Clean Surge, F5912900 Review

Hoover SteamVac Spin Scrub TurboPower Carpet Cleaner with Clean Surge, F5912900
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My decision to purchase this was mostly on price and gauging its ease of use.
Since renting one from the market is around $50 including shampoo, my thinking was this was an appropriate price to pay for this since after three cleanings, it's yours plus you don't have to return anything.
The other factor is ease of use. This is pretty straightforward. The top container holds the clean water and shampoo. After using, the "sucked up" dirty water is in the container at the bottom.
The Hoover here is nice in that both snap in and out pretty easily.
There are some things to keep in mind.
Try to use near boiling hot water (or a mixture of near boiling water and hot water from the faucet) - you will get a more efficent clean. Pour in the shampoo AFTER you put the water in the container - otherwise you'll get a slew of foam instead of being able to fill it with water to its highest level.
Afterwards, the things always leak some (maybe if you pay $400, it's not a problem) so as soon as you finish, take it outside and start to disassemble the thing. Then dump out the dirty water and hose off the dirty water container. If you can leave it outside for a while to let it dry as it will still drip a little.
This model will do about a 50' by 40' room or so before you need to refill with clean water and empty out the dirty water so if you have many huge rooms, this might not be for you ... or your help will grumble as you have to repeat :-)
If there are specific spots, you still need to spray it with one of those carpet cleaner sprays.
The hose attachment is nice for carpeted stairs but the main unit is pretty bulky so plan carefully so it doesn't tip over (water).
The only real con is that it be nice if the power cord was retractable but other than that, it does what it says it does and the two containers are easy to fill & remove.
Recommended.

Equipped with a powerful 12 amp motor, this easy-to-use machine cleans carpets by applying, scrubbing, and removing hot tap water and cleaning solution. The unit's five rotating SpinScrub brushes gently loosen dirt from fibers, and the brushes pop out for rinsing. Heated cleaning forces hot air from the motor directly into the carpet, making the solution and brushes work more efficiently. Even more, its fingertip Clean Surge function comes in handy for spot and heavy-traffic areas, and the included SpinScrub powered hand tool works great for cleaning upholstery and stairs. Two translucent tanks keep the clean and dirty solutions separate. In addition, the carpet cleaner's quick-release tank latch and one-handed easy-to-remove recovery tank makes clean-up a snap. Thoughtfully designed, the carpet cleaner features a built-in measuring cup, a comfort-grip handle, a toe-operated on/off switch and handle release, a 12-inch cleaning path, an 8-foot attached hose, and automatic tool conversion. Other details include large trundle wheels, a 24-inch power cord with quick-release, and a carrying handle for convenient transport. The carpet cleaner measures 20 by 11-1/4 by 44 inches and carries a one-year limited warranty.
