Shark Cordless Power Sweeper Review

Shark Cordless Power Sweeper
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this because I am obsessive about my floors and I used to vacuum every day. I wanted to be able to have the carpet look nice all the time without dragging out the big vacuum. This product works and meets my need. However, I bought it in March and it is now June and it seems a bit worn out. It was quiet and now it is loud. It sounds like it is breaking down....it doesnt hold a charge as long anymore but it still works. My baby is crawling now and it keeps all the little choking hazards up. I feel like it won't last much longer but I am thankful I have it right now.

EL1012A Ergorapido Hand Vacuum Review

EL1012A Ergorapido Hand Vacuum
Average Reviews:

This is the most INCREDIBLE stick vac and hand vac! I really LOVE it! I am used to my Kirby and while I adore it, I was really curious about this item. My opinion is that Electrolux has a wonderful reputation and paired with the potentially extreme convenience I decided to give this a try. I have 2 babies, 2 kitties, hardwood floors throughout with some ceramic tile and a couple of area rugs. This item is fabulous on each and every surface! I use it on all floor surfaces, rugs, furniture, even bedding (ie: kitties go under the bed leaving their fur on the dust ruffles) with great results! It will pick up kitty hair, remodeling dust, new rug shedding, cheerios, and more! I've seen gripes about emptying the 'chamber' and, in my opinion, if you don't want your stick vac to pick up debris - find a cheaper stick vac! This one is absolutely wonderful, worth every penny and then some! Buy It!

Flair w Power Nozzel Review

Flair w Power Nozzel
Average Reviews:

I wanted to give it a 4 1/2 but the site wouldn't let me. This is such a great vacuum because it is so maneuverable and can get under and around places so easily, even hard to reach areas. It has a setting for floors so that the brush doesn't rotate. It is powerful and does a thorough job. I do my whole 1200 square foot house with it, but since the filter is small, I empty it when I'm done. It has some drawbacks.
1. One of the cord windup hooks broke so now the cord is difficult to wind. I just wrap it around the vacuum.
2. The cord could be just a couple feet longer.
3. You have to position it just right if you want to stand it upright. Sometimes it's fallen over (No big deal though).

i bought this item at a Best Buy and it seemed nice with the swivel features and the cool colors. so i brought it home and let in charge for a day (after i assembled it). i tried it out. i love the removable mini vacuum. but the battery only lasts for about 15 minutes. and its contents fall out once you've finished vacuuming, which is quite unfunctional. i like this vacuum otherwise, but i decided to return it. :( hope this helped some of you decide.

Dirt Devil 0313SLV KRUZ Cordless Floor Vacuum Cleaner Review

Dirt Devil 0313SLV KRUZ Cordless Floor Vacuum Cleaner
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I recently installed beautiful new hardwood floors and I wanted a vacuum that was FOR hardwoods and would not scratch. This vacuum is marketed to do just that. There is no false advertising, but it just isn't a practical design, and it would be very difficult if not impossible to clean a whole floor with this thing.
First of all, it's cordless and lightweight. It has the same suction power and battery life as a hand-vac. It also has the same suction width as a hand-vac. If you look at the picture, you can see on the front of the head where there is a little black rectangular opening; that is how wide the path of cleaning is - it makes a little stripe on your floor. There is no way I could get all the dust off my floors! It's just like cleaning your floors with a hand-vac except you don't have to be on your knees.
Actually, it might be easier to clean your hardwoods with a hand-vac because at least you can control the hand-vac and work relatively quickly. This is my second issue: watch the video demonstration of the lady using the vacuum - do you see how slow she is going? I thought she was just going slow to look pretty and show off the vacuum, but I was wrong. That is how slow you have to go to control the crazy spinning casters on the bottom. You will feel like you're playing bumper cars - baseboards, plants, unsuspecting pets: they will all get whacked by the bulky head of this vacuum. I'm a perfectly able-bodied 20-something. I'm not a wimp. This thing is hard to control unless you go very slow. I don't have time for that.
Third issue: it does not fit into tight spaces or under furniture. You have to be right on top of a crumb to pick it up and the little opening has to be facing the crumb. No sideways suction means I can't get the corners clean - there is no way it will fit in a corner.
So, the only reason I would recommend this to anybody is if the person is disabled and cannot use a hand-vac to pick up a small amount of dirt on the floor (perfectly legitimate if you have trouble bending over).
The vac, according to the marketing, was designed to clean and care for your hardwood floors without scratching them, but even though it has spin wheels on the bottom to avoid scratches, it is still just a little hand-vac with a long handle and it should only be used for the occasional "whoops I stepped on a pretzel" situation.
One star for the Kruz - because the marketing led me to believe that I could clean the dust and dirt off my floors, but I can only make 2-inch wide stripes of "clean" in an erratic pattern and then the battery dies. Sorry. I could have done that with a hand-vac and at least I could have controlled what I was drawing on the floor.

Equipped with a powerful 12-volt motor, this cordless vacuum cleaner picks up dirt, crumbs, and other everyday dry messes from any hard-floor surface, including wood, tile, and laminate. In addition, its fingertip power switch allows for turning the vacuum cleaner on and off without having to bend over. Other highlights include a 9-inch cleaning path, lightweight construction at less than 5 pounds, a charging stand so it's always ready to go, and an easy-empty dirt cup that requires nothing more than a simple tap to empty debris into the trash can. Electrolux Pronto 2-in-1 Stick Vac - EL1000A Review

Electrolux Pronto 2-in-1 Stick Vac - EL1000A
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this relatively pricey combo vacuum with the hopes of replacing two other devices: our cordless Dustbuster and corded Hoover Stick Broom. Unfortunately the Electrolux usually sits in it charger unused as it just doesn't perform well.
PROS: looks great, lightweight, very maneuverable around and under furniture, charging base has handy light that doubles as nightlight
CONS: very weak suction, clogs easily, design flaws for removable handheld, tends to scatter dirt instead of collecting it
We have 100% hardwood floors and tile/linoleum throughout the house, and our hope was to find a cordless upright that we could use for quick jobs of sucking up pet hair and dirt around entryway doors, etc. At first glance the Electrolux seemed the perfect fit: it was cordless but could be used on floors without having to bend over, and for tight spot jobs the removable handheld unit would negate the need for our Dustbuster. Unfortuntely it just doesn't perform well at all. Even for light hair and dirt jobs the upright clogs far too easily. There is a piece of flexible tubing leading from the bottom of the vacuum to the handheld unit (the handheld snaps into place near the base and actually does the suction), and the angle of this narrow, flexible tubing is about 90 degrees and the smallest leaf or twig causes a clog. If the tubing is completely clear the suction is decent enough for very lightweight sweeping, but even at that point the spinning brush in the base of the upright unit tends to throw small debris aside before the suction can pull it up into the bag (for example, I've tried using it to clean up light amounts of stray litter debris around the cat box but it tends to just throw the litter around the floor instead of sucking it up). I find that compared to the Hoover I have to go over the same floor area with several more sweeps to and fro to get all of the hair and dirt.
Other annoyances include the inability to empty the dirt collector without removing the handheld from the upright. Also the handheld power button will not stay in an On position without holding it tightly with a finger or thumb (when using as an upright the power will stay on by itself). The mouth opening of the handheld is also much smaller than your typical Dustbuster and even for small jobs takes several more sweeps back and forth to collect the same amount of dirt of just a few sweeps with a Dustbuster.
So overall I find myself using our two older vacuums and even going to the added trouble of putting an extension cord on the Hoover to do general house vaccuming instead of even bothering to pull the Electrolux out of its stand. Even though it's cordless it just seems to take longer and more effort to get the same amount of work done. It's basically not much more than an expensive nightlight for our laundry room. I really wish I had the good experience with it I seem to see other Amazon users reporting, but alas I cannot honestly say I feel this device delivers anywhere near what it promises.

Bissell Versus Cordless Bare-Floor Vacuum, 21R9 Review

Bissell Versus Cordless Bare-Floor Vacuum, 21R9
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I am a huge fan of Bissell products and everything that I have ever bought from the company has been a roaring success in our house. We have the Bissell Quick Steamer and the Bissell Steam Mop. Both of these little vacuums get a workout in our house, but I have yet to find a cordless vacuum that I am happy with. We bought a Shark which I absolutely loved until it burned out two years later. The next investment was our Dirt Devil Vibe. The suction was great for about a month and then it just stopped picking up. Since then I have been making do with a good old-fashioned broom and pan, but I always keep my eyes peeled for a cordless vacuum that works.
Bissell sent over their new Bissell Versus Cordless Bare Floor Vacuum and I couldn't wait to open it up. As with all cordless vacuums it requires a good charging before it will work so I had to wait until the next day to use it. Upon it charging, I was ready to roll and I had two willing and messy children to help me break it in. After a morning breakfast of cornflakes (for Ethan) and Cheerios (for Emily), we had the perfect scenario for testing out this vacuum.
The first thing you will notice about this vacuum is that it is an unusual shape. The design might not make sense at first, but when you are trying to get in those crevices around your furniture, it makes complete sense. It is a V-shape design that allows you to get right against your kitchen table and chairs without having to manuever around it. It does require a little manuevering though when you are trying to get around the outer perimeters of your room, but you just line it up against the wall and push around that way.
This vacuum has great suction and within minutes, I could see that it had picked up every last little cornflake bit and Cheerio. Again, the design factor comes into play on this model because the V-shaped design helps so that you aren't scooting stuff around (as I had experienced with other cordless models) and actually suctions it into the center.
While intended for bare floors, you could also use this vacuum on low pile carpeting. The vacuum is brushless so you aren't having to deal with trapped hairs and threads underneath. Best of all, it is bagless and has any easy to release cup where you can dump out what you catch...like Cheerios or cornflakes!
I would highly recommend this vacuum and can't wait to put it to the Clark test and see if it can survive a few years of hard work in our house.
Here are a few easy tips for picking a cordless vacuum that will be a good fit for your family:
1. You will be much happier with whatever you are purchasing if you can test drive it. Borrow one from a friend or just take them through a spin in the aisle. It would be ideal if you could use it, but if you can't just try pushing it around to see if it glides easily.
2. Pick a store that has a good return policy. I knew that Target is pretty good about returns, so I picked that store. In the case of the Shark, I read a story of one lady who had went through three in a month so it is good that the return policy would allow her to do that.
3. Online stores are great and might have more affordable pricing on these, but the pure and simple fact is, if it is defective or you just plain hate it, you have to ship that back. Who wants to be running a sweeper over to the post office? Physical stores are better in this case.
4. Sometimes extras (which cost extra) aren't worth it. Stick to the basic functions and look for ones that offer the best sweeper for your money.
5. Just like all things, the highest price does not make it the best. Some of the higher priced models had a lot less power than the one I purchased.

Lightweight and easy to use, this cordless stick vac works great for keeping low-pile area rugs and all bare-floor surfaces clean throughout the house. Its unique V-shaped base directs large debris into the center suction path while picking up fine particles along the arms. The angle of the arms increase air flow, allowing for greater suction at the end points of the base, which means the unit captures debris that normally gets left behind in corners and other hard-to-reach areas. In addition, it provides a comfortable handle, a bagless dirt container, a low-profile base for access under furniture, and a foot-activated power switch. The rechargeable bare-floor vacuum cleaner delivers up to 20 minutes of cleaning power per charge and measures 8-4/5 by 10-1/2 by 43-1/2 inches.

I'm able to clean my whole apartment - including tricky hard to reach places - in no time. The bag is also quite spacious, I find I'm only need to empty is every 3 weeks or so. The Superbroom is as powerful as any regular sized vacuume Ive used but takes up only a fraction of the space and is easy to carry around. Highly recommended

EL1022A Ergorapido Ultra 2 In1 Stick And Hand Vacuum Review

EL1022A Ergorapido Ultra 2 In1 Stick And Hand Vacuum
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Ok, so I needed a stick vac and I did the research. After several false starts, (Dirt devil, and hoover) I decided to try the electrolux ergorapido ultra.Electrolux Electrolux Ergorapido Ultra 2 In1 Stick And Hand Vac - EL1022A this stick vac has more power than the regular ergorapido and the battery charge lasts longer. I wanted a light weight vacuum that I could use in between regular vacuuming so that every time the dog and/or the parental units dragged in dirt, debris and now dried leaves from the garden, I wouldn't have to drag out the canister vacuum. Although the Ultra doesn't come in the fun colors that the other ergorapidos do, it is, as I said, more powerful and the charge lasts longer. It is slim, lightweight and QUIET. The other stick vacs that I tried were so loud on the tile floors that you needed ear protection. This little gem does exactly what I wanted it to do, pick up the dirt that is constantly being tracked into the kitchen and hall. The vac funtions very well on all the floors and rugs in the kitchen and hallway. The charge lasts for about 20 minutes at full power, which is more than enough time for the areas I use it in. It acutally covers the kitchen, breakfast area, utility room, hallway and powder room. It takes @ 14 hours to fully recharge, which is rather long, but OK since I mostly use it in the evening after dinner. It is very manuverable, the power head swivels almost like a dyson ball vac. What is really neat about this guy, is that it is a hand vac as well. I can't tell you how many times I've pulled the hand vac part out to vacuum up crumbs, plant debris, dirt, etc on tables and on plant stands. Then you just pop it back into the vacuum body and keep going. The vacuum comes with a little brush and a crevice tool for use with the hand vac. They are stored in the charging stand, which is not so convenient, but at least you know where they are when you need them. The charging stand is small and very easy to use, you just stand the vacuum on it. Emptying the cup is easy. You either pop open a trap door on the end of the hand unit, or pop the whole hand unit cup out and remove the filter by squeezing two tabs. Very easy to do and not a great deal of pressure needed. For a vaccum, this one is slim and elegant enough that if you had to store it somewhere where it would be seen it wouldn't be obtrusive. Would I replace my regular vacuum with this? NO! This is after all a glorified dust buster. It is not meant to take the place of a regular vacuum, but for quick pick ups in between regular vaccumings, I would rate this A+++. All in all, this is a great little stick vac that is efficient and easy for even the non-technophiles to put together and use. I would recommend it to my friends and family, and in fact have.

Eureka 108A Easy Clean 2-in-1 Stick/Handheld Bagless Vacuum Cleaner Review

Eureka 108A Easy Clean 2-in-1 Stick/Handheld Bagless Vacuum Cleaner
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased this vacuum when I got tired of lugging out the big vac to keep up with dog hair and kid crumbs. Sweeping just made things worse by making the dog hair fly around instead of helping.
So, solution...a lightweight cordless vac WITH a small duster for sofas. This vacuum has been perfect for our family. The battery lasts long enough (10-15 minutes) for me to relatively thoroughly clean the kitchen floor and then the other 3 rooms that are wood floors. The dog hair and crumbs are picked up between thorough floor cleanings which is exactly the thing I needed. The removeable "dustbuster" is perfect for crumbs and hair on furniture and in tighter corners. This vacuum is not meant to be the end all vacuum for your house. It is perfect for the 1-2 times a day you may want to keep doghair and crumbs in check. I leave this vacuum in the laundry room plugged is so it is always ready to go.
There is an unexpected added bonus...my boys LOVE to use it! It is the perfect weight and height (with the handle down) for kids! They get it out and put it away on their own. I rarely let them sweep with a broom because it just made more work for me, but now I have to keep them from fighting over it:)
So, if dog hair and dirt acculumate quickly in your house and you dread pulling out the big vac to keep up and sweeping frustrates you, this is the vacuum for you.

Weighing just 6 pounds, this two-in-one bagless upright vacuum cleaner works great for thorough cleaning as well as for quick pickups of everyday messes like crumbs and spilled cereal on the kitchen floor. As an upright stick vac, the unit picks up dust and dirt from carpets, rugs, and bare-floor surfaces--a flip of the switch turns the brushroll off to protect hardwood floors and delicate rugs. The unit's low-profile head and smooth-rolling wheels make it possible to clean under furniture and around obstacles, while its cordless design ensures maximum convenience when moving from room to room. Best of all, the stick vac converts to a handheld unit for cleaning stairs, furniture, or car interiors. To remove the handheld vacuum cleaner from the base of the larger unit, simply push in on the release button and tilt the cleaner out and away. A crevice nozzle comes included for accessing hard-to-reach areas. Other highlights include a two-motor system, 9-3/5 volts of power, standard filtration, a comfortable oval-shaped handle, and an easy-to-empty dust cup. Hoover LINX Cordless Rechargeable Lithium-Ion Battery, 18-Volt, BH50000 Review

Hoover LINX Cordless Rechargeable Lithium-Ion Battery, 18-Volt, BH50000
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Based on a phone call to Hoover: If you want your battery to last and work properly do not store the battery on the charger or in the vacuum. Fully charge the battery and use it in the vacuum. If the battery runs out, fully charge it again (3 hours and a light on the charger will pulse when ready) and then store it separately. If the battery has not run out you can choose to recharge it so it fully loaded (again, take it off the charger when the light pulses) and then store it separately. Since a full charge only takes 3 hours an overnight charge is not recommended.

Eureka 166DX Boss Lightweight Stick Vacuum Review

Eureka 166DX Boss Lightweight Stick Vacuum
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Here's my situation. I have a cat box in my bathroom and I really didn't like sweeping the kitty litter up every day - the broom would kick up dust and I would invariably miss a bit of kitty litter.
I needed something small, light that I could drag out and buzz around the bathroom (hard surface) with. This fits the bill perfectly. It's not exactly quiet, but not too bad either.
I don't like the rechargeable stick vacs because my closet doesn't have a power outlet and I really don't want to leave it out and look at the thing. In addition, corded stick vacs tend to be more powerful and don't run down, but you do have to put up with a cord.
This stick vac is basically a dustbuster with a telescopic handle and a detachable (bare) floor nozzle. It is not going to compete with a regular vacuum, but for light cleanup (e.g. kitty litter) it works just fine. I also use it on the low-pile carpeting just outside the bathroom door to pick up any stray kitty litter and it gets most of it. I don't think you'd want to use it on thicker pile carpeting or for large areas especially considering the floor nozzle has no brush roller - it really is designed for hard floors.
It does what I need -- no more kicking up dust and no more kitty litter in the bathroom (I use it every day). I am happy with my purchase.

We bought this when our first child learned to crawl and we had to clean crumbs, etc off the floor before she ate them. Now we're again finding it indispensable for number two and three (now ages 1, 3, and 5)
I like it for:
1) Handle installs and removes quickly and easily.
2) vacuum hangs easy on the charger - some other ones we've had are tricky to pop into the charger correctly if you want it to be installed vertically.
3) Power roller bar - really sucks up those cheerios quickly, even on hard floors.
4) Easily removable battery - charger has a second battery charging slot so you can swap out. When I bought this the cashier at Target told me that this was what they used to clean up spills in the store. It's now almost 3 years old and the battery is starting to show it's age (It's easily removable so I'll be buying a spare soon)
UPDATE: The original battery is still going strong. To eliminate the "Memory" I just ran down the battery between charges rather than keeping it on the charger "topping off" all the time. Works great now, as good as new!
UPDATE2 - after 5-1/2 years the original battery is finally dead. OEM replacement part cost me $19.99 including shipping, good as new!!!!
TIP: When emptying I find it handy to use a full size vacuum cleaner to get the filter extra clean.

Bissell : 31063 FeatherWeightTM Vacuum Cleaner

(More customer reviews)
I needed a good working, and affordable vac to clean up my small college dorm room's carpet (It's not a very plush carpet). This vac surprised me! So far it's been working out fantastic! The long handle is detachable and so is the top head so you can convert it into the familiar dust buster. It's small enough to store under a bed in a dorm room. It has a pointed wand attachment too. This certainly isn't something you would want to use as a main vac for a house, but it's great for the dorm. The cord length seems to work great for my 16'x12' dorm room--so it does NOT operate as a cordless, so no worries about the battery dying out on you. It's bagless so the canister has to be emptied...
which brings me to my only complaint about it... everything seems to get stuck to the filter... hair, dust and dirt... so it's not just a matter of emptying the canister. You have to pick everything off the filter, and it has a tendency to get inverted so you have to pull it out to clean it good. So my suggestion is to clean it over an open trash can... and for the dust you just can't seem to pick off, use a lint roller on the filter and it seems to clean it up well. (which is why I give it 4 stars instead of 5)
Otherwise, great vac for the price paid (Approximately $20 at Wal-mart).

Hoover Flair Bagless Stick Vacuum, Bagless, S2200 Review

Hoover Flair Bagless Stick Vacuum, Bagless, S2200
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
With new low pile carpeting (berber) and tile floors elsewhere in my home, this seemed to be the perfect solution and alternative to my trusty Kenmore. The Hoover was easy to handle, descent suction, fairly easy to empty the canister (albeit slightly messy as the dust/dirt tended to "fly" a bit), long electrical cord and an overall lightweight appliance easy enough to manage under tables and chairs and such. However, the third use resulted in a crack in the foot that attaches to the body - this resulted merely from preparing to turn off the machine - too much pressure when placed upright? One crack lead to another, then chunks flew off to the point that the bottom no longer stayed attached to the unit, no way to replace the part without replacing the entire base/foot - not cost effective and of course, past the 30 day return. If the hard plastic connection from foot to base were reinforced or if a preventive measure of duct tape or such around the connection were made I believe this minor adjustment would resolve this unfortunate complication. A call to Hoover netted "ah, sorry to hear of that, never heard of a problem like that before". I didn't know the one I bought for my sister had done the same thing until after I shared the details of my call to Hoover with her. She agrees it's a good concept, but plagued by an otherwise minor flaw.

I really wanted to like the Shark Multi-Vac, but, God help me, I'm about to throw it out the window! At first I thought having a vacuum with multiple uses (hand vac, upright vac, and canister vac) would be great, but changing from one configuration to another takes a degree in rocket science and a lot of energy. I'm generally a very tech-y girl, but I really don't want to be deconstructing and reconstructing a robot when all I want to do is vacuum the kitchen floor!!
Deep breath.
For ease of reading, I'll list the pros and cons (of which there are many):
Pros:
* Low Price: With one of those 20% coupons Bed, Bath and Beyond sends in the mail what seems like every day, I was able to buy the Shark Multi-Vac for about $80 at the BB&B on Queens Blvd.
* Small Size: Petite for a small home/apartment
* Powerful Suction: The suction was so strong it actually got hard to push on some of my carpets. (Wait, does that make the suction a con in this instance?)
* Back Saver Attachment: This attachment, used in canister mode, allows you to get under furniture without moving heavy pieces or straining your back. However, I couldn't even figure out how to convert the vacuum to canister mode and I strained my back with frustration anyway!
* Purple Vacuum: Need I say more?
Cons:
* Crazy Swivel Steering: I would have thought swivel steering would be a pro, but it is actually really hard to steer the vacuum where you want it. I had a hard time pushing the vacuum straight ahead and actually needed to lift it and replace it down on the floor a couple of times.
* Complicated Design: As I said above, it is difficult to transition from one vacuum format to another and putting the vacuum together out of the box was like building a spaceship (I exaggerate a little, of course). You also need to remove the entire hand vacuum from the stick to empty the dust cup, which is supremely annoying.
* Inconvenient Power Switch Location: Unless you have some serious monkey toes, you'll need to bend down to the bottom of the vac to reach the power switch, which out of multi-use necessity must be on the hand vac canister. This pregnant lady did not appreciate that.
* No Beater Brush: The upright vac does not have a beater brush, which means the vac won't kick up things and I had trouble picking up even a feather from our extremely low-pile carpeting. (I did have more success with the upright vac in our tiled kitchen.)
* Heavy: Despite being advertised as "light-weight," this Shark is actually a bit of a chore to push around. Perhaps this is an unfortunate side effect, however, of the difficult steering and super suction.
* Short Hose: Forget about cleaning your curtains when the vac is in upright mode. The most you're stretching this hose is two feet and it doesn't come with a long-reaching nozzle attachment.
The bottom line is that I must return this vacuum before it drives me crazy. I was blinded by how cool and gadgety the Shark Multi-Vac Looks, but I've learned a lesson that simple and dependable is generally the way to go with household appliances.
